Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA Elects Charles Pona as Managing Partner
Effective January 1, 2021, Chuck will succeed Scott Weltman, who will return full-time to his practice of commercial and consumer collections. Shareholder David Head will then transition into Chuck’s previous role as Practice Group Chair. Scott, having held the role of Managing Partner since 2013, has been a key component in developing the firm’s succession plans and providing mentorship for the firm’s associates, shareholders, and management. This ongoing emphasis on stewardship and the development of its next generation of leaders is what has allowed the firm to best serve its clients over its last 90 years in business.
Having the same vision for organic growth and long-term success, Chuck and Scott have been working together closely over recent months to ensure a smooth transition in leadership. “I am excited to start this next chapter in my career. I thank Scott Weltman for so admirably leading our Firm the past eight years,” reflected Chuck. “I look forward to working with our dedicated employees to continue to provide only the best service to our valued clients.”
Chuck, who has practiced at the firm for 32 years, has served in a variety of leadership roles at the firm, including being the Practice Group Chair for consumer collections and being a member of the firm’s management committee. On a larger scale, he has held many notable positions over the years, including his current seat on the Collections Advisory Board for TransUnion, one of the most prominent credit bureaus in the country. Chuck was previously President for the National Creditors Bar Association and is a Martindale-Hubbell AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated Attorney.
