Growth, Grit & Giving Back: Inside Alex Weinberg's Legal Path

When Cleveland Attorney Alex Weinberg joined Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA (Weltman) in 2020, he had no idea how pivotal the experience would become—not only in shaping his legal career, but in revealing what it truly means to be part of a supportive, values-driven team.

Alex initially joined the firm’s Real Estate Default Group during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. “Like a lot of places, the firm had to make tough calls during COVID, and I was let go,” he shares. “But they kept their word and brought me back when they could. That loyalty stuck with me—and it still does today.”

Now, five years later, Alex is a respected attorney and an active presence across several internal committees at Weltman. He’s deeply engaged in both the legal work and the behind-the-scenes efforts that build a strong workplace culture. “There are so many opportunities to show who you are beyond your title,” he says. “The firm gives you space to bring both your professional and personal character to the table.”

That balance of high-level legal work and human connection has been one of the most surprising—and rewarding—parts of the job. “A lot of people look at our firm and assume we’re the ‘big bad wolf,’ but the truth is, we help people. I have meaningful conversations with individuals going through tough situations. When you can really listen, support them, and still do right by our clients, that’s a powerful position to be in.”

As Weltman celebrates its 95th anniversary this year, Alex represents what has helped the firm endure and evolve: integrity, teamwork, and a clear passion for doing meaningful work. He also appreciates the firm’s diverse and inclusive environment. “We have such a broad mix of people—different ages, backgrounds, perspectives. It’s not something you find everywhere.”

For new attorneys or professionals considering a place like Weltman, Alex has simple but powerful advice: “Your fate is in your own hands here. If you want to grow, learn, and challenge yourself while doing work that matters—this is the place to do it.”
Alex’s story is one of resilience, opportunity, and personal growth—an example of what’s possible when talent meets the right environment. Learn more about Alex’s professional side on his attorney bio and connect with him today.
