An Introduction and Welcome to Our Newly Elected Partners

I am very pleased to announce the election of five (5) new Weltman, Weinberg, & Reis Co, LPA partners: Mr. Scott Fink, Ms. Amy Clum Holbrook, Mr. James Kozelek, Mr. John Porter, and Ms. Jennifer Monty Rieker and welcome them into our partnership.

This talented and dedicated group of lawyers has demonstrated their legal expertise in the areas of bankruptcy, commercial and consumer collections, litigation and defense and legal action recovery, helping the firm further strengthen some of our core practice areas. Each will be instrumental in helping us remain a leader in the creditors’ rights field of law and continue to deliver the highest quality of legal services to our clients and our staff for many years to come.

Mr. Scott Fink earned his B.A. in Political Science from Miami University in 1993 and his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1997. A member of the Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations, Scott is licensed in Ohio and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio). He was recognized as an Ohio Rising Star by Cincinnati Magazine in 2010 and is a Martindale-Hubbell “AV” Peer Review Rated Attorney. Scott’s community involvement includes many local charities and industry associations.

Ms. Amy Clum Holbrook earned her B.A. with honors in Sociology and Management from Ohio Northern University in 1995 and her J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law in 2002. A member of the Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations (CMBA), Amy is licensed in Ohio and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Northern District of Ohio). Amy is the team captain of the 3R’s Program of the CMBA, Max Hayes High School and was recognized as a 2010 Ohio Rising Star by Cincinnati Magazine. Amy was also a law clerk for the Honorable Randolph Baxter of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court (Northern District of Ohio) and was most recently selected to the Weltman Satellite Office Management training program (SOMA).

Mr. James Kozelek earned his B.A. in English from The Ohio State University in 1997 and his J.D. cum laude and Order of the Curia from Capital University Law School in 2001. A member of the American, Ohio State and Columbus Bar Associations, Jim is licensed in Ohio and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Southern District of Ohio) and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Jim is a member of the Commercial Law League of America (Midwestern Region Second Vice Chair and Creditors’ Rights Section Executive Council), the Columbus Bar Foundation (Fellow) and sits on the Board of Directors for First Service Federal Credit Union. He was recognized as an Ohio Rising Star by Cincinnati Magazine in 2010 and 2011, and is a Martindale-Hubbell “BV” Peer Review Rated Attorney. Jim’s community involvement includes the YMCA Family Center, Mid-Ohio Food Bank and Whetstone Community Recreation Council (President). .

Mr. John Porter earned his B.A. magna cum laude in Political Science from Wittenberg University in 1999 and his J.D. from The Ohio State University, Michael E. Moritz College of Law in 2002. A member of the American, Ohio State and Columbus Bar Associations, John is licensed in Ohio and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Northern District of Ohio). John is a member of the Columbus Bar Association (LGBT Committee Co-Chair) and has been published in The Journal of Payment Systems Law and The WWR Letter. He was recognized as an Ohio Rising Star by Cincinnati Magazine in 2010 and 2012, and his community involvement includes the YWCA Family Center, Mid-Ohio Food Bank and serving as a Board Member for the AIDS Resources Center Ohio.

Ms. Jennifer Monty Rieker earned her B.A. cum laude in Communications from DePauw University in 2000 and her J.D. from The Ohio State University, Michael E. Moritz College of Law in 2003. A member of the American, Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations (CMBA), Jennifer is licensed in Ohio and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Northern District of Ohio). Jennifer is a frequent lecturer on litigation and compliance matters and has been widely published. She was recognized as an Ohio Rising Star by Cincinnati Magazine in 2009, 2010 and 2012. Jennifer’s community activities include serving as a member of the CMBA’s Bar Admissions Committee and as a 3R’s program volunteer. Jennifer has also served as an Ohio Supreme Court Mentor to new attorneys since 2009. She serves as a board member of ORCA House, is a founding member of the Western Reserve Historical Society’s Young Professional Council, and is the Risk Management advisor to a local chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta.
