Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA (Weltman), a full-service creditors' rights law firm now in its 87th year of client service, is pleased to announce that Shareholder Keri P. Ebeck has been elected as secretary for the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association. She will serve a one-year term, effective July 1, 2017.
The Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA) is a professional organization with more than 6,100 members, including lawyers, judges, legal administrators, and paralegals. Ms. Ebeck has been a member of the ACBA since 2010, and a member of the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section since 2015, for which she is also the immediate past treasurer. The Section is responsible for studying bankruptcy and commercial law and informing members of proposed changes to related legislation. The Section also promotes education and fosters relationships between and among the local judiciary and local bar members.
Ms. Ebeck is based in Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA's Pittsburgh office. In addition to her membership with the ACBA, Ms. Ebeck also belongs to the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She serves as a member of the Bankruptcy, Collection, and Women in Legal Leadership Committees for the American Legal & Financial Network (ALFN), and is a member of the Education Services and Marketing Subcommittees for the Legal League 100. Ms. Ebeck is also involved with the Judith K. Fitzgerald Bankruptcy Inns of Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and is a volunteer with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She is a frequent lecturer on bankruptcy-related matters for industry organizations and Weltman clients. Ms. Ebeck earned her J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2003, and a B.A. in political science from King's College in 2000.
