Weltman Milestone: 90 Years of Protecting Creditors' Rights

CLEVELAND
— July 31, 2020 — Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA (Weltman), a full-service creditors' rights law firm, is celebrating a major milestone: its 90th year in business, as of August 1st. Since 1930, the law firm has operated under its Vision, “To be the nation’s leading provider of creditors’ rights solutions.” Over the last 90 years, and through much resiliency along the way, the firm has welcomed a plethora of innovation, growth, and results.

Weltman has a solid history of leadership and pioneering, from the concept and creation of a collection agency call center operating within the same office as the firm to being one of the first law firms to implement computerization.  Weltman’s innovative ways blend customized solutions with flexible fee schedules, in turn, providing full end-to-end solutions.

The firm recognized the need for a single solution in the creditors’ rights industry and grew its practice on the premise of such. Weltman’s suite of services has since expanded across five primary verticals: bankruptcy recovery, commercial collections, consumer collections, probate recovery, and real estate default. Throughout the last 90 years, Weltman has transformed from a boutique-sized operation to a complete collections agency and fully-staffed law firm, with a total of over 500 employees in eight offices across five states. Just last year, the firm opened its first office in the state of Kentucky and looks to continue expanding its footprint in the future.

Partnering with businesses of every size, from local credit unions to the nation’s largest banks, businesses, and some of the most famous brands in the automotive industry, the firm has recovered billions of dollars for its clients and prides itself on operating with the highest legal, ethical, and moral standards.

The firm is currently led by its Managing Shareholder Scott S. Weltman, whose grandfather, Maurice M. Weltman, was a founder of the firm. Scott reflected on the company’s anniversary, “We are thankful for all our valued clients and remarkable and dedicated employees throughout our history. We have continued to innovate and change with the times and we are thrilled to remain the premier creditors’ rights law firm in the country as a result of our hard work and investments in our great people and technology. It is no small feat to achieve this 90-year milestone and we are so proud of this accomplishment.”
