Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA, a full-service creditors' rights law firm entering its 90th year of client service, is pleased to announce that shareholder Eileen M. Bitterman has been elected to the firm’s management committee. Her appointment marks the first female to be named in the firm’s history.

The management committee is the firm’s senior leadership team, which works relentlessly to develop strategic and succession plans to ensure the firm’s ongoing success. Weltman’s Board consists of elected members who serve as directors and work closely with the other shareholders to develop and provide oversight of firm business operations.

In her current role as compliance officer, Eileen is responsible for managing the firm’s Compliance Audit Department, Client Services Unit, and Compliance Management System (CMS). She works diligently to detect, investigate, and solve any potential issues that could result in any form of consumer harm. Eileen is also a frequent lecturer on regulatory and federal laws that impact the debt collection industry, including the FDCPA, TCPA, GLBA, and the CFPB.

“Eileen has shaped who and where the firm is today,” Scott S. Weltman, managing partner, reflects. “With her decades of service, understanding of the industry, and commitment to the firm’s clients, it’s an honor to work alongside her and advocate for the future together.”

“I am honored to be elected to the Board and excited to have the opportunity to continue to provide guidance and leadership to our law firm,” stated Eileen. “I have proudly been with Weltman for 25 years, and I am thrilled to have achieved this personal career goal during my tenure with the firm. It is a privilege to be a part of this fantastic leadership team and work with our amazing staff as we strive for legal excellence every day. I look forward to our future and being a part of the success and growth of the firm as we continue to adapt to change in our industry and the world.”

Eileen has been selected to Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Stars lists and is AV® Preeminent™ Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, its highest available rating for legal ability and professional ethics. She is extremely active within the industry, serving in a leadership role on a number of committees, including vice chair of the Member Attorneys Program (MAP) Committee for ACA International. Eileen has also been appointed to the Cleveland State University Cleveland-Marshall College of Law Board of Visitors and serves on the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association Joint Bar Admissions Committee and Appeals Subcommittee.
