Danielle Pecenka Cullen

If there is one thing that is constant in Danielle’s compliance practice, it is change. The creditors' rights industry is continually developing new legislation and case law, requiring Danielle to be prepared for anything – and often at a moment’s notice. 

As an attorney in the firm’s in-house compliance audit department, Danielle is primarily responsible for providing guidance, direction, and in-house legal counsel to all employees firm-wide, including collection staff, management, and attorneys in each of the firm’s practice areas. She ensures that all of the firm’s standard operating procedures and training manuals are kept up-to-date and in compliance with the FDCPA and all other federal and state laws and regulations, and addresses day-to-day questions regarding how those regulations impact business operations.  

One of Danielle’s most memorable legal matters was a pro hac case for a nearby jurisdiction in which she defended a suit against Weltman in federal court. Despite the opposing attorney’s combative behavior and apparent disregard for professional standards, Danielle maintained her focus and obtained a solid written opinion and a win for the firm. Her ability to keep a calm disposition during intense situations, paired with her background in psychology and deep understanding of human behavior, have often allowed her to resolve issues through mediation and practical approaches. 

A lifetime resident of Ohio, Danielle makes health, nutrition, and emotional well-being a part of her daily routine. When she is not strength training, jogging, or walking, she enjoys reading memoirs and spending time with her family and friends.
