Whether addressing a complex collections matter or advising on procedural best practices, Byron’s goal is always the same: to help clients reach timely, efficient resolutions with confidence.

Byron represents creditors—including credit card and student loan lenders—in resolving outstanding debts efficiently and effectively. He brings more than two decades of legal experience and a strong foundation in creditors’ rights, mortgage lending, bankruptcy, and subrogation. His comprehensive background allows him to anticipate challenges before they arise and guide clients toward practical, lasting solutions.

Before joining Weltman, Byron served as in-house counsel for two national mortgage lending companies, where he built their legal departments from the ground up. In these roles, he drafted policies and procedures, recruited and managed legal teams, and represented the companies in litigation across the contiguous United States. This broad experience gave Byron a deep understanding of the operational and compliance challenges facing creditors—and the proactive mindset to help clients navigate them.

Byron’s clients and colleagues describe him as knowledgeable and effective, with a reputation for getting things done. He strives to be approachable and solution-oriented, believing that strong communication and trusted guidance are the hallmarks of effective advocacy.

Born and raised in the Pittsburgh area, Byron and his wife are proud to be raising their two daughters there—and have no plans to leave. Outside the office, he enjoys mountain biking along the region’s parks and river trails, cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers, and getting lost in a good fantasy or science fiction novel.
