Two Weltman Attorneys Selected as 2022 Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Stars

CHICAGO — Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA, a full-service creditors' rights law firm with over 90 years of client service, is honored to announce two of its attorneys were named to the 2022 Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Stars list.

Charles (Drew) Walgreen, attorney: Drew’s practice areas include commercial collections, consumer collections, and real estate default. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Florida, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin. Drew has been named as a Rising Star consecutively since 2018. 

Laura Alms, attorney: Laura practices in the firm’s Consumer Collections Group, with specific focus areas of subrogation and education loan recovery. Laura primarily represents litigation supervisors and managers, directors of operations, and account analysts during the pre-judgment litigation stage. She is admitted in the state of Illinois and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. This marks Laura’s second consecutive year receiving this honor.

The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive, and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.

The list of Rising Stars is comprised of attorneys 40 years old or younger, who have been in practice for 10 years or fewer, and represents no more than 2.5% of lawyers in the state.
