The Pennsylvania Supreme Court agreed to hear a case in which a trial court refused to award a plaintiff treble damages after the defendant was found to have violated the Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law (UTPCPL). As a result, Defendant was found to have committed the common law torts of Negligent Misrepresentation and Fraudulent Misrepresentation while also violating the UTPCPL.
