Maaria’s background in both public service and client-facing roles allows her to approach each matter with empathy, precision, and a steady hand. Her path to becoming an attorney was shaped by her desire to make a meaningful impact. While working in the childcare industry, she realized she wanted to help people in a broader capacity - an ambition that ultimately led her to pursue a legal career. During law school, she gained valuable hands-on experience working with the City of Dayton’s Civil Law Division, where she represented the city in traffic court and assisted in defending claims. These experiences, combined with her prior professional background, helped her develop the thoroughness, attention to detail, and client-focused mindset she brings to her role today.

Now practicing in the firm’s Consumer Collections group, Maaria works with creditors, including financial institutions and credit card companies, to resolve defaulted consumer accounts. She understands the fast-paced nature of her clients’ day-to-day operations and the importance of efficient, practical solutions. At the same time, she approaches her work with a balanced perspective, recognizing that successful resolutions can benefit both creditors and consumers by creating manageable paths forward.

Known for being calm, determined, and supportive, Maaria prides herself on maintaining a positive attitude in an often-challenging area of law. She is not easily rattled and works to find practical outcomes that align with her clients’ goals while treating all parties with professionalism and respect.

Outside of the office, Maaria lives in Columbus with her husband, where they enjoy exploring new restaurants, going to the movies, and discovering new films to stream. She values time spent with family and loves to travel to new places whenever she can.
