Laila brings a fresh perspective and strong academic foundation to her role in Weltman’s Columbus office. With a background rooted in both economics and law, she approaches each matter with a thoughtful, well-rounded lens.
Laila’s path to becoming an attorney was driven by a longstanding interest in the legal field. Practicing in the firm’s Consumer Collections group, Laila works with businesses and financial institutions to support the recovery of outstanding consumer debt. She understands that her clients operate in fast-paced, result-driven environments, and she strives to provide clear, reliable guidance that aligns with their operational goals while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Although early in her legal career, Laila distinguishes herself through her detail-oriented mindset, collaborative nature, and genuine kindness - qualities that help her build strong working relationships with both clients and colleagues. Her academic background in economics further enhances her ability to analyze financial matters and approach legal challenges with both business and legal insight.
Outside of the office, Laila enjoys reading and writing as a way to unwind and stay creative. A Westerville, Ohio native, she also has a passion for travel and has explored destinations across Europe and Africa. When she’s not planning her next trip, you can likely find her listening to pop and alternative music.
