Jim strives to educate his clients without overwhelming them – and that includes speaking in terms they can easily understand.
Jim leads the firm’s commercial collections practice area, and is also the managing attorney for the firm’s Columbus office. Focusing exclusively on commercial accounts, he partners with banks and businesses both local and national in scale to offer comprehensive recovery strategies. This may include traditional agency type collections, or more complex matters such as litigation or arbitration.
An active member of the legal community, Jim serves as chair of the board of directors for First Service Federal Credit Union, an institution he has supported in a volunteer capacity for more than 10 years. As chair, he works to ensure the credit union follows all state and federal laws and regulations, and that proper policies, procedures, and controls are in place for both management and staff. He has also held leadership roles with the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA), and is currently serving as the recording secretary to the board of governors.
Jim grew up in a large family of eight – half of which are now attorneys! He is married with a son and a daughter, and enjoys his current status as an “empty nester.” He recently reunited with his former bandmates, who have been performing all original music for the first time since the early ’90s. The experience has been so much fun that the band decided to hit the recording studio to prepare all new material for release. Jim also likes to cook, and is constantly learning how to “fix things” around the house (after he breaks them).
