Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA (Weltman), the nation's largest creditors' rights law firm based on revenue and placements according to Collections & Credit Risk magazine, is pleased to welcome new attorney, Audra T. Funk.
Audra T. Funk is an Attorney in the Columbus office who practices in the area of Consumer Collections with a focus on legal action recovery. With more than 12 years of experience as a consumer collection attorney handling suits brought to recover consumer debts in contested litigation including consumer defense litigation matters, Audra has gained a working knowledge of many state and federal consumer protection laws, handled numerous in-house compliance and best practice initiatives, and also handled consumer bankruptcy cases. She was formerly employed with Javitch, Block & Rathbone LLC (partner) and Zellar & Zellar Co., LPA (associate). Audra earned her B.A. in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1991 and a J.D. from Capital University Law School in 2000 where she was a member of the Order of the Curia and National Order of Barristers, as well as a semi finalist in the Pace University Environmental Moot Court Competition.
A member of the Ohio State and Columbus Bar Associations, Audra is licensed in Ohio and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Southern District of Ohio). She has served as a repeat panelist for the Ohio Judicial College on topics related to consumer debt collection cases (2008-2010, 2012) and presented for the Ohio State Bar Association's Debt Collection Seminar (2008, 2011) providing case law and legislative updates for those years. Audra has been the Secretary of the Ohio Creditors' Attorneys Association since 2008 and is a volunteer for the New Albany Plain Local School District.
