Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA Shareholder Stuart A. Best Elected to Board of Directors for Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan

Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA, a full-service creditors' rights law firm, is pleased to announce that Shareholder Stuart A. Best has been elected to serve as a member of the board of directors for the Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan. 

The foundation is a statewide organization providing information, emotional support, and financial assistance to families in Michigan that have been impacted by leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood-related disorders. The organization has offered services aimed to help meet the needs of patients, their families and caregivers since 1952.

"The CLFM is an outstanding organization which provides much-needed support for patients and their caregivers," Best said. "I am honored to have been invited to serve on the board, and I look forward to contributing to this very worthy organization and the important work it does." 

Mr. Best has been elected to a three-year term, which will begin January 1, 2017 and conclude on December 31, 2019. He will be eligible to serve a second term following completion of the initial three-year term. Mr. Best became involved with the organization over the last few months after offering to help support their initiative that focuses on providing financial hardship counseling to patients and caregivers.

Mr. Best focuses his legal practice in the area of litigation and defense. He handles litigation involving consumer finance defense, commercial banking, business and real property, in both federal and state courts. Mr. Best earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Michigan State University College of Law in 1987 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism in 1984 from the University of Michigan.

Mr. Best is licensed to practice in Michigan and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Oakland County Bar Association. Mr. Best volunteers with and presents to many community groups and organizations including: The Community House, Boy Scouts of America, Michigan Classic Ballet Company, Rochester Community Schools, and the Troy School District.
