Heartland Bank Wins the 2013 Weltman Outstanding Community Partner Award
Attorneys W. Cory Phillips and David S. Brown of Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA (Weltman), recognized Heartland Bank as the winner of the annual Weltman Outstanding Community Partner Award at the 2013 Community Bankers Association of Ohio (CBAO) Annual Convention held at The Lodge at Sawmill Creek in Huron, Ohio. Heartland Bank has established a tradition of service to local communities, supporting worthwhile efforts of community organizations, educational systems and youth activities. Heartland Bank and its employees have built a business on the tradition of service and have grown to be important members of the community, by investing in the hopes and dreams of those communities- what they like to call “Heartland Spirit”. For example, their entry this year focused on their annual Heartland Bank Charity Golf Outing which has raised more than $294,000 for children’s charities throughout Columbus over the last 15 years. Along with a crystal trophy, Heartland Bank received a check in the amount of $2,000.
Sponsored by Weltman, in partnership with CBAO, the Weltman Outstanding Community Partner Award was created to honor those community banks in Ohio that actively partner with their local communities to provide educational, community outreach and/or community service programs, and celebrates those that are investing time and resources into their communities and inspiring others through their work. Nominees demonstrate social vision and clearly communicate how employee volunteerism is the key to their community involvement.
Banks participating in this year’s contest demonstrated a company-wide commitment to community service and were recognized for their participation. Other nominee banks included Consumers National Bank (Minerva), Eaton National Bank & Trust (Eaton), First National Bank (Bellevue), Liberty National (Ada) and The Pataskala Banking Co. (Pataskala).
