Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA Shareholder Selected to Serve on Chester Township Board of Zoning Appeals

Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA, a full-service creditors' rights law firm, congratulates Shareholder Charles G. Pona for being selected to serve on the Chester Township Board of Zoning Appeals as an alternate board member. 

The board is in Chesterland, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, and acts as a local court of appeals for anyone asking for a variance from the township's zoning resolution. Board members also make decisions on interpretations made by the local zoning inspector and can grant special "conditional uses" of land. 

Five members and two alternate members serve on the board. Alternate members serve on the board when a board member cannot attend a meeting. Members are elected to serve a five-year term on the board. All board members are residents of the township and are appointed by Chester Township Trustees. 

Mr. Pona is based in the firm's Brooklyn Heights, Ohio office where he manages the firm's Consumer Collections Unit. He is responsible for the group's performance, profitability and client satisfaction. In addition to his new role on the board, Mr. Pona belongs to the Ohio State Bar Association, is a member and past president of The National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys; and is a member of The National Association of Subrogation Professionals and of the Northern Ohio Credit Association. 

He earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 1986 from Cleveland State University's Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, and graduated magna cum laude in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University.
