Weltman's Robert Weltman Recognized for 50 Years in Practice

Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA (Weltman) extends special congratulations to Senior Partner Robert “Bob” Weltman of the firm’s Cleveland, OH office for achieving 50 years in practice. Along with Bob, 31 other area recipients were recognized at the Ohio State Bar Association District 12 Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 5th. Bob is Weltman’s first recipient to achieve such an outstanding recognition since his father, Maurice Weltman. When asked about his accomplishment, he stated “To get to 50 years, you need to get to 49 first.” He attributes his perseverance to “good health, good genes, good family, supporting employees, and most of all – good luck.”

Since joining the firm more than 50 years ago when his father was a partner, Bob applied his entrepreneurial aptitude to expand the firm’s services from collections and bankruptcy to include foreclosures, litigation and probate collections. Today, Bob focuses his practice on commercial business-to-business collections and large balance commercial workout and litigation matters. He also has extensive experience in working on particularly high balance complex matters including fraud.

Bob earned his B.B.A. from Ohio State University (1959), with continued studies in finance through the Master’s Program. He received his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1965. A member of the American, Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations, Bob is licensed in Ohio and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Northern District of Ohio) and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a recipient of numerous awards over the course of his career, including Ohio Super Lawyers List (2004-2006) and Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (Service Industry category 2003).
