Weltman Congratulates Jim Kozelek on His Nomination

Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA (Weltman) congratulates James G. Kozelek, an associate in the commercial collection group of Weltman, on his nomination by the Board of Trustees to be a Fellow of the Columbus Bar Foundation (CBF).

With his years of experience and focus on service excellence, Jim was honored to accept the invitation to become a Fellow for the CBF. In addition to supporting legal services for the less fortunate, Jim will be responsible for promoting public understanding of the law and the role of the legal profession, nurturing professionalism within the bench and bar, and supporting diversity within the profession.

The Columbus Bar Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Columbus legal community. The mission of the CBF is to strive to increase access to justice, improve the administration of justice and promote excellence in legal education through scholarships and grants. Members come from all areas of legal practice and the vision is of legal professionals working together for the benefit of the community.

Jim practices in Commercial Collections, focusing on the Commercial Banking, Commercial Business, Special Collections and Commercial/Agency Services Groups. He is based in the Grove City office of Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA. Jim earned his B.A. in English from The Ohio State University in 1997 and his J.D. cum laude and Order of the Curia from Capital University Law School in 2001. A member of the American, Ohio State and Columbus Bar Associations, Jim is licensed in Ohio and admitted to practice before the US District Court (Southern District of Ohio) and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Jim is a actively involved with the Commercial Law League of America (Midwestern Region Second Vice Chair and Creditors’ Rights Section Executive Council) and sits on the Board of Directors for First Service Federal Credit Union. He was recognized as an Oho Rising Star by Cincinnati Magazine in 2010 and 2011 and is a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rated Attorney with a rating of “BV (Distinguished).” Jim’s community involvement includes serving as President of the Whetstone Community Recreation Council, YWCA Family Center (volunteer) and MidOhio Foodbank (volunteer).
