Weltman Congratulates Jim Kozelek

Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA (Weltman) congratulates James G. Kozelek, an associate in the commercial collection group of Weltman, on his appointment to Second Vice Chair of the Midwestern Region of the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA).

Jim’s active involvement in the CLLA highlights his commercial law leadership abilities. Previously a member of the Executive Council of the Midwestern Region, Jim was installed as the second vice chair at the 81st Chicago Spring Meeting and 117th National Convention. In his position, Jim will attend and assist in the coordination of CLLA meetings in New York and Chicago annually. Jim also serves on the Executive Council of the Creditors’ Rights Section of the CLLA.

The Commercial Law League of America is a respected organization of attorneys and other experts in credit and finance actively engaged in the field of commercial law, bankruptcy and insolvency. Since 1895, the CLLA has been associated with the representation of creditor interests, while at the same time seeking fair, equitable and efficient administration of bankruptcy cases for all parties in interest. CLLA’s core purpose is to be the leader in providing legal, educational and professional services to the business and credit communities.

Jim is an associate in Commercial Collections; a part of the Commercial Banking, Commercial Business, Special Collections and Commercial/Agency Services Groups. He is based in the Grove City office of Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA. Jim earned his BA in English from The Ohio State University in 1997 and his JD cum laude and Order of the Curia from Capital University Law School in 2001. A member of the American, Ohio State and Columbus Bar Associations, Jim is licensed in Ohio and admitted to practice before the US District Court (Southern District of Ohio) and the US Bankruptcy Court. Jim sits on the Board of Directors for First Service Federal Credit Union. He was recognized as an Oho Rising Star by Cincinnati Magazine in 2010 and 2011 and is a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rated Attorney with a rating of “BV (Distinguished).” Jim’s community involvement includes serving as President of the Whetstone Community Recreation Council, YWCA Family Center (volunteer) and MidOhio Foodbank (volunteer).
