Scott Weltman has worked for Weltman for more than 20 years and is a third generation "Weltman". He is the son of Robert B. Weltman, active senior partner at the firm and grandson of Maurice Weltman, a former senior partner of Weltman. Scott replaces Alan H. Weinberg, who held the position of managing partner since 1995. Mr. Weinberg will continue to be active in the firm by taking over management of the real estate default group, as well as taking a lead role in attorney development and marketing for the firm.
"I very much enjoyed being the firm's managing partner and have no regrets about stepping down," says Mr. Weinberg. "I wish Scott much success and am confident that under his leadership, the firm will continue to experience the growth and success that it has enjoyed during my rein as managing partner over the past 17 years. Scott was elected by the partnership to lead the firm, based on his legal and business knowledge, leadership skills and high level of lawyering excellence."
"Every New Year brings a lot of change, hope and excitement," explains Mr. Weltman. "2013 is no different. Having a new managing partner at Weltman will be a change, but nothing like the change that will occur as we successfully transition to our new state-of-the-art technology platform that will further improve the efficiency of our business." Mr. Weltman is confident that this multi-million-dollar investment, which includes an upgrade of the firm's information systems, will sustain Weltman's position as a leader in the creditors' rights industry.
