Jonathan seeks to protect his client’s financial interests while producing the best possible outcome.
Jonathan began his professional career as an intern at a financial services company while he was pursuing his undergraduate degree. He worked his way up to senior assistant manager, where he assisted consumer borrowers with mortgages, auto loans, personal loans, and collections. Shortly after his graduation, he decided he would be more fulfilled with a career in the legal field, as he had always taken an interest in the law. Upon completing his law studies, he worked as an associate attorney at multiple firms throughout the Tampa Bay area, where he concentrated his practice primarily on creditors' rights, with an emphasis on residential foreclosure and employment discrimination matters.
In his current role as an associate attorney at Weltman, Jonathan works with his portfolio of clients in the collection of student loans, credit card debt, motor vehicle loan deficiencies, and medical debt. He regularly appears in the Chicago courts, as well as the surrounding counties, where he argues and defends motions, appears for arbitration hearings, and litigates bench trials. Back at the office, he is drafting discovery, conducting legal research, and negotiating settlements with opposing counsels.
Jonathan spent a significant portion of his childhood in Seattle, Washington, Portland, Oregon, and Tampa, Florida before he relocated to his hometown of Chicago with his wife and their recently-blind golden retriever, Charlie. He and his wife have been working with Charlie on verbal commands to help him navigate the city, and enjoy taking him on long walks through their neighborhood. They also volunteer their time with the As Good As Gold Golden Retriever Rescue organization. As a big baseball fan, Jonathan is glad to be back in Cubs territory. He also enjoys live concerts and is particularly keen on the music of Frank Turner, The Vaccines, Travis, and of course, The Beatles.
