Weltman Congratulates MetroHealth Medical Center

Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA (Weltman) Partner, Sara Donnersbach attended a press conference Monday as the President of the Board of Directors for the March of Dimes, Northeast Ohio Division, where they announced the expansion of a new pilot program designed to help treat opiate-dependent pregnant women – and the babies they give birth to, thanks to support from the state. Weltman proudly supports this initiative, and we are pleased that our client, MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, will benefit from the March of Dimes grant funds, as well as the financial support from the state. Weltman supports the March of Dimes annually through event participation and fundraising efforts.

MetroHealth’s Maternal Opiate Medical Support program is the first of four in Ohio, launched with grant money through the Governor’s Office of Health Transformation’s Innovation Fund, in partnership with Ohio Medicaid and the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. The three-year, $4.2 million project is estimated to reduce infant hospital stays by 30 percent.

The March of Dimes helped to launch the hospital’s opiate dependent mother’s clinic, which started in 2001, with a $35k grant. The organization has renewed that grant for the M.O.M.S. program.

Sara will be attending a site visit to MetroHealth with the Board of Directors for the Ohio Division of the March of Dimes in early July to meet with the coordinator of the program and talk with the doctors about their success and future needs.

Sara Donnersbach is a Partner in the Cleveland office, where her responsibilities include managing five practice groups: Government, Healthcare Collections, Utility, Community Bank and Landlord-Tenant Collections. She is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan, Ohio State, and American Bar Associations.  Sara serves as President of both the board of directors for the Northern Ohio Credit Association, and the board of directors for the NE Ohio Division of the March of Dimes.  She was also appointed to the Business Executive Advisory Board for the Heidelberg School of Business (Berg Business Board) and is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Healthcare Law Committee. Sara was selected for inclusion in the 2005, 2006, 2011 & 2012 Ohio Rising Stars list, and she was also selected for Crain’s Cleveland Business magazine’s “Top 40 Under 40” in 2006. Ms. Donnersbach earned her B.S. from Heidelberg College, her J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, and her M.B.A. from Cleveland State University.
