Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA Raises Money for Annual March of Dimes Campaign

Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA (Weltman) is excited to announce that its employees raised nearly $22,000 in support of the March of Dimes 2011 March for Babies campaign. The March of Dimes is just one of the many charities that Weltman supports each year.

Beginning in March, Weltman employees from all ten of its offices raised money for the campaign through various fundraising activities including: walk sponsor dollars, bake sales, chili cook-off contests, guest bartender nights, event and game raffles, snack carts, silent auctions, and more. A portion of the Firm’s casual day donations also went toward the total, as employees contribute money every other week for the privilege of wearing casual clothes to work. More than 75 employees from Weltman’s Brooklyn Heights (OH), Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Detroit, Ft. Lauderdale (FL), Grove City (OH), Philadelphia and Pittsburgh offices participated in the actual walk in their respective cities. Our newest office in Ft. Lauderdale, led our donations for this year's campaign, based on money raised for employees per office.

“Weltman has been supporting the March of Dimes for over ten years”, explains Sara Donnersbach,a partner with the firm who leads the annual fundraising efforts. Ms. Donnersbach is also a member and past president of the Board of Directors for the N.E. Ohio Division of the March of Dimes. “Our firm employees collected donations and competed in other fundraising activities to help the March of Dimes. While partnering with the March of Dimes, our employees not only have a lot of fun, but they give their time, talent and funds to help save babies and raise public awareness of the problems associated with premature births. Supporting the March of Dimes promotes a healthy, positive work environment and encourages firm-wide volunteerism. The March of Dimes, along with other charities Weltman supports, brings our employees together for more than just routine work. It is a positive experience all-around!”

When someone walks in March for Babies, they give hope to the more than half a million babies born prematurely each year, as the money raised supports programs in communities that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. Walking since 1970, the March of Dimes has raised an incredible $2 billion to benefit all babies.

“Weltman’s philosophy is to recognize our success by giving back to the communities in which we live and work by supporting worthwhile causes”, said Alan Weinberg, managing partner of Weltman. “We demonstrate this philosophy by our commitment to volunteerism and charitable giving by Weltman and all of its employees.”
